We’re looking for a Product Buyer for a sportswear apparel and footwear company in Beaverton, Oregon. This a long-term contract role that will primarily work in an in-person/office setting, with some hybrid flexibility.


As a part of the Brand Marketing + Product Management team, the Product Buyer will manage seasonal product buys across multiple functions, dimensions, and geographies. You will partner with Product Planning, Product Creation, Merchandising, Demand Supply-Chain Management and Brand Marketing to procure and manage Sample, Inline, and Top of Production product buys from our factory partners on behalf of internal Brand Partners to fuel consumer demand. You will bring a customer-service attitude and growth mindset to facilitate product buys for our internal customers.


As the Product Buyer, you will:

  • Contribute special expertise by managing a training program on systems and tools for new customers
  • Be of service to Global Brand Marketing to deliver the right product at the right time to support demand creation
  • Help planning partners make good decisions by exploring Geographic applicability and identifying ways to maximize budgets, improve product usage, reduce waste, and streamline process
  • Bea thought partner to troubleshoot and problem-solve unanticipated issues
  • Be informed of enterprise-wide tools, systems, and process evolution



Core capabilities for this role include:

  • Brand Management: Serve as a conduit between cross-functional partners, customers, and Geographies in the procurement of product
  • Asset Management: Manage the procurement of product availability and delivery schedules while eliminating waste
  • Operational Management: Track buys and data usage and extract insights to inform ongoing buys while adhering to operational policies and best practices
  • Team Management: Engage and contribute to our community and team for process improvements while providing tools and systems training



RESPONSIBILITIES


Procurement Management

  • Partner with Brand Marketing Product Management Planning, Global Brand Imaging & Marketing customers to confirm seasonal product needs
  • Place weekly, Seasonal and ad-hoc product orders for Inline, Samples and Top of Production and products prior to deadlines
  • Analyze, aggregate and place allocation forecasts for footwear
  • Maintain contracts and order details from P.O. creation through delivery to our end user
  • Own buy date calendars for Seasonal and off-cadence deadlines
  • Communicate deadlines for Seasonal deliverables and exceptions
  • Partner with Supply & Inventory Planning to facilitate P.O. creation and updates
  • Manage Partnership relationships through timely delivery and communication
  • Track coverage and fulfillment of Inbound orders from the factory to the DC
  • Lead training for internal teams and customers on process and resolution approaches
  • Utilize and manage shared inbox and action on queries
  • Identify and find solutions for style integration issues
  • Process factory direct ship orders from Product Creation teams
  • Direct and make decisions on our Promo surcharges
  • Place and track Comp or Digital Orders as needed
  • Be a thought partner for manager and broader team to continuously improve processes
  • Strategically solve problems by leveraging team and functional partnerships
  • Meet the needs of our customers by delivering excellent customer service
  • Analyze and share out reporting data with our customers and Leadership teams
  • Determine areas of opportunity for continuous improvement and optimization
  • Support the team with other requests, as needed


Asset Management

  • Minimize/eliminate order errors
  • Manage contracts and direct ship orders
  • Reduce waste by improving process and analyzing data
  • Solve exception requests to support asset creation


Risk Management

  • Adhere to and train others on operational policies
  • Elevate risks and issues and problem-solve solutions


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in data analytics, order management, marketing, sports marketing, merchandising, consumer services, procurement or product buying
  • Strong business acumen for brand, financial, resource and data management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
  • Strong Excel, reporting and analytical skills with an ability to manage across multiple systems and spreadsheets is a must
  • Passion for numbers and demonstrated ability for quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Experience with SAP, Cognos and/or Winshuttle a plus
  • Results-driven with a focus on KPIs
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and independently find solutions
  • Passion for sports culture and expertise in sports products
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Great attention to detail

Pay range:

  •  $27-$30/hour
