Our client, a leader in the high-end automotive industry, is searching for a talented UX Animator (3-6 month contract). In this role, you will be a part of the Digital Product Platform group here in Portland, Oregon, working with internal engineering groups and external vendors to build new technologies for our client's future vehicle product lines. As a UX Animator, you will: 

  • Utilize your experience with animation in order to bring user experiences to life within an iterative process—across a variety of modalities and use cases—for automotive products, both in and out of the vehicle

  • Work closely with UX research team to understand user behaviors and needs and support iterative user testing efforts 

  • Prepare and present these UX animations and concepts to stakeholders in order to champion the best user experience

  • Review storyboards to understand animation requirements and execute accordingly

  • Research various design techniques to provide accurate designs for requested animations

  • Collaborate cross functionally with product owner, designers, and developers to ensure animations capture product need and requirements

  • Utilize industry animation tools and methods to finalize animation projects (e.g After Effects)

  • Create documentation and guidance for animations handover 

  • Collaborate with the UX design and research team to create missing storyboards and design collateral where needed

  • Other duties as assigned


Who we’re searching for / About you:


  • 3+ years of experience with a strong portfolio—with a focus on animation—that demonstrates an understanding of user experience, product, or interaction design 

  • Mastery of animation tools (e.g., After Effects)

  • The ability to work independently and as a part of a team of UX designers and researchers

  • Excellent collaboration, observational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills alongside the desire and ability to see things from multiple perspectives

  • Are resourceful, conscientious, and self-motivated

  • Are capable of building and maintaining strong relationships while advocating for meaningful improvements to our customer experiences

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical work experience

  • Experience with Unity or 3D tools is a plus

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
