GIS Analyst (Hybrid)

We’re looking for unique and talented individuals with strong analytical skills for a contract-to-hire GIS Analyst position for a telecom engineering firm client. This is a hybrid role (2-3 days/week in the office) and is open to applicants in the Portland metro area.


Responsibilities:

  • Create and modify drawings depicting telecommunications and electrical infrastructure

  • Generate data validation and verification processes to ensure accuracy within GIS systems using ArcMap, ModelBuilder or python

  • Research and obtain local land base and existing utility as-built files

  • Coordinate with management, engineering, and other team members to ensure all drawings comply with industry, local jurisdiction, and client standards.

  • Develop scripts allowing for repeatable and efficient workflows

  • Provide technical support to design engineers, project managers and other team members

  • Update and maintain, as necessary, existing hard copy design drawings and convert existing hard copy drawings to electronic versions.


Qualifications:

  • Telecommunications and/or electrical engineering experience is a plus

  • At least 2-5 years of GIS/ESRI experience

  • Creative and analytical mind with a willingness to learn

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol and background check requirements


 You will:

· Provide analytical support to Design, Field, and Permitting staff.

· Create cartographic, tabular, and data products for client delivery.

· Create processes and automate tasks for efficiency and value addition.

· Drive innovation


This is not an entry level position. Candidates must have a working knowledge of the ESRI product line: ArcMap, ArcPro, arcpy, ArcGIS Online, ect. Coding/scripting/model building are major pluses. Experienced preferred, education is tentative.
