Director of Customer Experience (start-up + Zendesk expertise)

We're looking for a Zendesk-fluent Head of Customer Experience for a direct hire role with our Portland, OR start-up client in the healthcare innovation space. This role will be largely remote for now, though being in-office in Portland will be an important part of this position. As such, we can only consider candidates in the area or those who plan to relocate in the next few months.
This is a key leadership role with a well-funded start-up that allows the chance to build out a Customer Experience Team. If creating something from nothing, designing a best in class customer experience, building a team, creating a fun, energetic culture and inspiring creative and collaborative thinking get you fired up, then you may have just found the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
At least 2-3 years leading a customer experience team (ideally in a start-up environment) A thorough understanding of fully integrating Zendesk and knowing what built-in functionality is available and how it works is a must. If you have experience with Zendesk’s Sunshine Custom Objects and APIs that’s even better. Experience working and communicating closely with an engineering team to make the most of Zendesk’s capabilities.
Nice to haves:
If you come from the healthcare sector and have worked with employee benefits, health insurance, direct with patients or all of the above, major plus! Managing and motivating a customer experience team of 15-20+ HIPAA is a crucial part of protecting customers/patients, so having some background around patient data privacy regulations is helpful.
