We are looking for a Senior UX designer who is curious, driven, and loves partnering with peers in product and engineering to deliver great user experiences. We’re a team of question askers and problem solvers, and we’re looking for a close collaborator to join our legal software company headquartered in Portland, Oregon. This role will report to the VP of Product, and be equal parts user research / testing to inform early product discovery and sprint-based work as a member of a scrum team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
In this role, you’ll…
Know our users: You will serve as the UX designer and subject matter expert for a specific customer workflow, helping us identify and serve user and customer needs.
Solve problems: As part of the “triad” of product, UX, and engineering, you will help us find the sweet spot that serves users, is technically feasible, and meets the needs of both the business and the market.
Expertly execute: You will be working with multiple timeframes at the same time: support work-in-progress, look forward to the next roadmap items, and participate in early discovery and definition. This will require that you know how to load balance, have a clear view of your priorities, and gain energy from solving multiple different types of problems.
Uphold and build Agile: UX roles have an interesting relationship to the sprint cycle and to scrum teams. This role will support multiple scrum teams running on two-week sprints, and you’ll be an integral member of the team.

What You’ll Need:
Minimum 4-5 years experience as a professional UX designer in a SaaS/start-up environment and/ or building enterprise software
Minimum 3 years experience identifying user needs, user tasks, use scenarios, and user-centered design requirements from stakeholders, customer feedback, usage data, and business goals. Strong ability to define users’ requirements based on research and data and less about personal opinion.
Demonstrated experience successfully performing iterative UX design work
Ability to work proactively and independently with minimal oversight toward a team objective
Demonstrated prioritization skills based on understanding of product roadmap, intended implementation schedule, and shifting priorities
Strong design fundamentals: Sketching, concept creation and wireframing, producing sitemaps and user workflows, creating interactive prototypes
Strong experience with tools such as Figma, Sketch, Lucidchart and willingness to learn any tools outside your toolkit
Experience utilizing user-centered design principles and practices and human factors usability concepts
Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders; facilitate cross-functional design discussions and gather feedback
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Information Architecture, or equivalent experience or academy training

While this job is fully remote with the opportunity to be in the office if you live in Portland, candidates must be a resident of Washington, Oregon, California, or Texas.
This is a contract-to-hire (3-4 month contract then converted to full time employee) position with an hourly rate of $54/hour and $115,000 annually.
