As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor on our engineering team. We’re looking for an experienced technologist who can design, implement, and operate a modern application stack.

You’ll work with an amazing, tight-knit team of engineers, designers, and support staff—all of whom are passionate, kind people who excel at what they do. People genuinely care about what they’re building—it’s one of the things that makes working here so rewarding.

You’ll also have a lot of opportunities to learn and grow. We have regular technology learning sessions and lunch & learns where people get to share their particular interests and talents. There are also many opportunities to have fun, including company/team offsites and events like game nights, and movie nights. Anyone can create new learning sessions or plan events.

We offer competitive salary, excellent healthcare, 401(k) matching, an employee stock purchase program, tuition reimbursement, and weekly catered lunches in a beautiful plant-filled office in sunny Portland, Oregon.

You will...

  • Share ownership of all aspects of production and testing infrastructure.
  • Work closely with both the engineering and security teams to make sure architecture and software choices support our commitments to tight security, high performance, and an excellent customer experience.
  • Continuously work to improve all facets of the development lifecycle, evolving our development and deployment processes to ensure the smoothest possible experience for our developers and customers.
  • Architect and engineer strategies for keeping sensitive data safe and secure.
  • Share responsibility in ensuring system uptime and an excellent customer experience by being in the on-call rotation.

Our stack is hosted on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, ELB). We use Chef and Terraform to manage our infrastructure, and we leverage GoCD for continuous integration. Our applications are static JavaScript/HTML apps served by Ruby (not Rails) endpoints. Data lives in PostgreSQL and S3, and we use RabbitMQ for asynchronous messaging. Specific experience with this stack is not required.
