An Evening with Marthe Cohn - A French Jewish Spy in Nazi Germany

Wednesday, February 12, 2:00am - 4:00am

Marthe, a 99-year-old, decorated WWII hero, was a young French Orthodox Jewish nurse who became an unlikely spy in Nazi Germany. She will share her first-person account of her experiences and her insights. In addition to audience Q & A, Marthe will also sign copies of her autobiography Behind Enemy Lines: The True Story of a French Jewish Spy in Nazi Germany.

In this unbelievable account is the story of a humble young woman trying to make sense of baseless cruelty, and who challenges herself to do the incredible.

Today Marthe travels the world with her husband, Major, speaking at universities, synagogues and communities throughout the US, Canada and Europe. She recently returned from touring Europe with the release of the documentary film of her life “Chinchinette” (2019).

Come meet this remarkable and vibrant woman, with an unwavering will and expansive sense of humanity. This evening of living oral history will be truly inspiring and illuminating.

“Behind Enemy Lines” will be available for purchase the night of the event, but we encourage reading it prior to meeting her. Get your copy from our partner bookseller, Broadway Books.

The event is free to attend, however registration is required and seats are limited. Light refreshments will be provided.
