Check out some of our favorite New Year’s resolutions, perfect for talent looking to level up their career in 2024:

1. Boosting your personal brand requires a no-nonsense commitment to strengthening your resume or professional portfolio — and learning new, sought-after skills in your field. Update your resume with any new roles or responsibilities, newly acquired soft or hard skills, or software/programs you’ve utilized over the last year. We encourage you to include everything, regardless of duration or depth of use.

2. Expand and diversify your existing skill set by signing up for virtual learning platforms, certification courses, or continuing education programs. There is a wealth of free resources available for job seekers, so we encourage you to do your research before paying for any online course.

3. Explore new avenues and opportunities to grow your professional network. Try to think outside of the box and be open to experiences that require you to get out of your comfort zone.

4. Leverage all the tools that LinkedIn has to offer job seekers. Are there any new professional groups you can join? Can you post new content in your profile that speaks to emerging trends or opportunities in your field?

TALENT SUCCESS STORY WITH JESSA, PRODUCER.

Can you share your experience working with your Team 52 talent manager during your engagement — from the initial communication all the way through to the onboarding process?

There has always been an ease working with my Team 52 talent manager, Colleen. She helped me get a previous role, so when I came to her looking for work we already knew each other well. From the start there was always open communication and she made sure I understood each step along the way, making the process easier. My interview experience was fast-moving and I appreciated having the support and guidance as I moved through the process.

What did you enjoy most about working with Team 52 in this capacity? In what ways did they meet or exceed your expectations in their service and support to you, as a candidate?

Working with Team 52 took away some of the nerves knowing I had someone in my corner. They exceeded my expectations by making me feel like I was part of an open and honest partnership in the journey of finding me work which doesn’t happen in every creative talent agency. It sometimes can feel too transactional. Colleen always made me feel like she cared about me as a person and wanted to truly help me take my next step. Her guidance, especially in rate negotiation for my contract extension, was so appreciated.

What advice would you offer fellow [talent (or) candidates] that would like to emulate a similar path to success, with assistance from a creative talent agency, such as 52 LTD?

My advice is to learn and be honest with yourself about your passions and goals. It can take time to learn what those are but once you find them it is so much easier to speak to your strengths in those areas in interviews and with your talent manager. When you bring your heart, passion, excitement to the conversation it opens up more possibilities.
